 Rebuilding Together Of the City of Angels Services are divided into two levels:

•             Tier I - Services consist of work that can be performed in as little as one day and require less than 72 hours of preparation. Excluding the application and issuance of permits.  Rebuilding Together Of the City of Angels may require the homeowner to pull the necessary permit.

•             Tier II - Services typically require multiple days of on-site work, multiple permits, including pre and post site inspections and clearance. Tier II Services may require two or more skilled contractors working numerous days or weeks.

Installation of Fire and Carbon Monoxide Detectors

Window Replacement and repairs  Total project cost including finish work may not  exceed $3,000.00  

Installation of manufactured ADA ramps

Bathroom Safety Modifications

Removal of tub to accessible shower. Improve existing shower accessibility.    

Install, replace, and ground non-working electrical outlets

Door widening and Installation

To allow for improved accessibility and mobility through exterior entry doors and interiors doors leading into the client's bedroom and primary bathroom. Door widening and or replacement are limited to 3 doors per residence.

Replacement of broken faucets, showerheads, garbage disposal, and water heaters

Carpet/Flooring Repairs and or Replacement  Carpet/Flooring repairs must address a fall or trip hazard. Help to remove furnishing may be available through RTCOA volunteers but is not guaranteed. Ultimately, the removal of furnishing is the responsibility of the client or household members. RTCOA will make flooring carpet selection. 

Replace broken exterior entry-doors

 Roofs  Repair cost not to exceed $5,000.00 and only for dwelling unit

Install lever handles, doorknobs, and deadbolt locks Not to exceed 4 units per household

Repair or replace interior and exterior stairs  Total project cost including finish work may not  exceed $10,000.00  

Repair, Remove, Replace broken toilets

Code Enforcement Correction  Support efforts to correct code citations that impact home safety

Clean up  Exterior and interior cleanup is intended to improve the safety of pathways inside and outside the home

 Electrical Repairs  Must meet RTCOA’s definition of as critical or essential for legal occupancy. All work must be performed by a licensed electrician. Total project cost including finish work may not  exceed $5,000.00  

Lighting  Repair or replace non-working interior and exterior lighting to improve security, energy efficiency and safety

 

Plumbing repairs to eliminate leaks and water waste. Whole systems replacements are not available

 

 

 

 

RTCOA Services are divided into two levels:

  • Tier II - Services typically require multiple days of on-site work, multiple permits, including pre and post site inspections and clearance. Tier II Services may require two or more skilled contractors working numerous days or weeks.  
  • Tier I and Tier II services are available to owner-occupied single-family residences. RV’s and mobile homes are excluded.  If applicable, the homeowner is solely responsible for obtaining written approval from the Homeowners Association or Property Management.    
  • Rebuilding Together of the City of Angels reserves the right to decline, cancel or modify services. 
  • RTCOA does not make cosmetic repairs. All services must address fall hazards, accessibility/mobility, weatherization/energy efficiency, fire, and health safety.  
  • All work is subject to the availability of funding and may be scheduled over 1 or more days.
  • All applicants must sign and complete an application, provide proof of income, assets, and property ownership. The homeowner and the client must agree to an in-person property evaluation/assessment by a RTCOA Representative, Occupational Therapist and or a contractor.
  • The submission of an application or inspection is not a guarantee of program eligibility or service. 
  • RTCOA reserves the right to choose all materials. Materials provided by the client may be used but there will be no guarantee or warranty provided.
